Attorney P. Michael Khosla heads up The Khosla Immigration Law Group, P.C., a full-service corporate business immigration law firm founded in1995.

Attorney Khosla's roots go back to Peoria, Illinois, where this law firm originated as a small office, first on the north side of Peoria, IL, on University Avenue and Pioneer Parkway, and then moving to downtown Peoria, IL across from the Caterpillar World Headquarters, where Attorney Khosla used to work as an in-house attorney for CAT in the patent department on the 6th floor during 9 am-5 pm on Adams Street, and worked vigorously to grow his private practice in Immigration Law during the hours outside of the traditional 9-5 hours in his small office in the Twin Towers on SW Jefferson, which was a brisk 2 minute walk from Adams Street.

Being an engineer himself (with BS and MS Degrees, both in Chemical Engineering) and having several years of working experience at CAT, both as an Engineer and a Lawyer, and having a thorough knowledge of the CAT products and processes, Mr. Khosla's privare practice grew quickly because he was able to relate to his H-1B and Green Card clients, most of whom were engineers working at CAT through various contracting companies and vendors to CAT in Peoria.  In due course, after wearing two hats for almost 3 years, Mr. Khosla retired from Caterpillar after almost 10 years with the company to pursue private practice.

Fast foward to 2016, and this small boutique law firm has entered into the 22nd year of practice but still remains focussed exclusively in BUSINESS IMMIGRATION LAW.

Attorney Khosla's client include mechanical, electrical, civil, chemical, environmental and biotechnology engineering companies, construction companies, information technology consultants, banks, media and newspapers, scientific research organizations, universities, dotcoms, pharmaceutical firms, DNA Genomics research organizations, steel and cable manufacturing, financial consulting firms, actuarial firms and medical institutions of all sizes, including physicians and chiropractors, in cases involving the hiring of international personnel and visa matters.

Attorney P. Michael Khosla prepares or supervises the preparation and reviews all cases himself with the assistance of his team members.  Each and every case is thoroughly reviewed by Attorney Khosla, no matter how big or small, before it is filed.  This is a system Attorney Khosla has followed from day one, since 1995, and this is the hallmark of his legal practice and the basis of his reputation for quality.

Because we value quality over quantity, we are selective in the number of cases that we accept and the clients we chose to accept cases from.  We will accept meritorious cases and pursue them vigorously, ethically, maintaining our duty of care to our clients and our duty of candor towards the USCIS, USDOL, Dept. of State, SWAs and other administrative bodies.

Attorney P. Michael Khosla, by his very nature, being an immigrant, has real compassion for his fellow immigrants and treats each and every case with a human touch.  At the end of the day, each case represents a human being having specific career goals and personal aspirations, and for a client to place their trust in a lawyer and to count their lawyer as an integral part of their life during the tough period of obtaining lawful work status in the United States, is a privilege and an honor.

Attorney P. Michael Khosla has a J.D. Degree (Juris Doctor-Law Degree) from University of Akron - School of Law, Akron Ohio (1995), an M.S. Degree in Chemical Engineering from University of Akron, Akron, Ohio (1988), and a B.S. Degree in Chemical Engineering from Punjab University, Chandigarh, India (1984).

A very small %
of the immigration law cases handled by Attorney Khosla fall into related family-based immigration matters, mostly limited to his existing business clients (Immediate Relative of US Citizen Green Card Petitions, Fiancee Visa (K1) and Spouse Visa (K3) matters, US Citizenship though Naturalization, and Family Based Adjustment of Status, Advance Parole, Work Authorization.  We limit the acceptance for representation of these type of cases only to our limited number of existing business clients and a few select new professional clients.

Michael Khosla" stands for, its Pankaj, and this appears on most U.S. Patents, given that Mr. Khosla's full name appeared on these documents as it was registered with the US Patent Office.  Mr. Khosla continues to maintain his US Patent Bar Membership (#37,978).  The US Patent Bar is a specialty that only those lawyers with technical degrees can sit for, and the Patent Bar Exam is usually offered once a year, with typical nationwide pass rates of 30%.  Mr, Khosla passed the Patent Bar in 1992 on the first attempt.

Prior to becoming a lawyer, Mr. Khosla worked as a Project Engineer for Caterpillar Inc. from 1988-1992, working in the area of Chemical Products such as polyurethane components and processes for filter manufacturing, hydraulic cylinder shaft seals, natural rubber products and compositions for undercarriage components in construction equipment, and synthetic polymers for friction materials (F37X) for transmissions of large earthmoving equipment made by Caterpillar (www.cat.com).
